Eli Brown

Eli Brown

BBC Radio 1 presenter Annie Mac has twice presented Eli Brown’s tracks as “the hottest tracks in the world.” It’s no wonder, because his vision of dance music is captivating: the powerful beats stem from a strong inspiration from contemporary techno or trance, but also a respect for dance music classics like LFO’s “Freak,” which he remixed for Drumcode. With the wave of popularity that took him to the top, the Bristol-based producer and DJ teamed up with Calvin Harris, with whom he recorded the single “Moving,” and from there it was a skyrocketing rise to the biggest stages where all hands are up.

Fever Ray

Fever Ray

Fever Ray is the project of Karin Dreijer, a member of the legendary duo The Knife. Their solo work, however, remains close to the productions created jointly with their brother Olof, both musically and lyrically, dealing openly with political and identity themes. The last album, “Radical Romantics,” they created together, by the way, making the album full of references to the club music of the global south, which has recently fascinated Olof. Karin’s songs, however, remain radically sharp, yet subtle and somewhat mysterious in their message, and they joke in the interviews that he wanted to be the igniter of a revolution that would end the patriarchal world. The new songs are about love and how one can exist in the world as a queer person.
