Degs

Degs

Immersed in Soul, R&B, Hip-Hop and Rock by his English and Kenyan parents, it wasn’t until his mid-teens that Andrew Davies aka MC Degs was introduced to drum & bass, instantly falling in love with the beats, bass and futuristic soundscapes.

Having learned a range of instruments as a child Degs turned his attention to vocals, experimenting with rapping over the hard-hitting Drum & Bass of the time. These experiments rapidly gained him attention and in 2011 Degs was made resident MC at Frequency Drum & Bass Sessions (Volks, Brighton).

His success in Brighton led to bookings across the rest of the UK and, eventually, into Europe with Degs featuring regularly at Belgium mega-raves Invaderz, Skank & Bass and more.

Recently, Degs began to combine his MCing with his soulful singing skills over more melodic D&B, immediately catching the ears of London Elektricity, BCee, LSB, Logistics, Blu Mar Ten and, as a result, he’s now a regular fixture at both Hospitality and Spearhead events.

Dr. Rubinstein

Dr. Rubinstein

Marina Rubinstein loves to DJ, but even when she’s perched in the booth, weaving together a invigorating assortment of hypnotic acid, ’90s rave and pumping techno, her mind is on the dance floor. After all, it was on dance floor that this Russian-born, Israeli-reared artist fell in love with techno in the first place. Long before she started playing records and adopted the Dr. Rubinstein moniker, she was a self-declared “true raver” in Tel Aviv, and it was during those long nights of partying that she eventually came to see dancing as a kind of meditation. “When the music is right,” she explains, “you can free your mind and just dance without thinking of anything. For me, it’s the best feeling in life, something that brings absolute happiness.”

That “special feeling,” as she describes it, is something Rubinstein is constantly seeking, not just for herself, but also for those who come to see her play. While her ceaselessly cheery personality certainly goes a long way in this effort, it’s her adventurous spirit – not to mention her unabashed love of all things acid – that truly sets her apart as a DJ. Now based in Berlin, she’s become a regular at places like ://about blank and Berghain, but her talents have increasingly taken her around Europe and the globe to spin alongside a wide array of techno luminaries.

Fred V

Fred V

Hailing from the south-west of the UK, drum & bass producer Fred V has elevated his trademark euphoria and melodic movements to new heights. Now exclusively signed to Hospital Records as a solo artist, he aspires to push the boundaries of the D+B landscape into new realms with his unique songwriting, vocal skills and as a supremely talented multi-instrumentalist.

With his shimmering big room steppers to heart-melting arpeggio melodies, Fred V draws inspiration from the likes of future-bass, electronica powerhouse Flume and the neo-soul stylings of Tom Misch. His accomplished songwriting abilities allow him to tread the delicate boundaries of D+B and the boundless realms of electronica.

Having spent the last seven years touring the world and receiving huge support across dancefloors and airwaves from the likes of Annie Mac, Friction, MistaJam and Rene LaVice, the decision to step away from his decade long collaborative project Fred V & Grafix marks a new and exciting chapter in Fred V’s career. With new music already incoming in 2019, the world is at his feet and Fred V’s new adventure has only just begun.
