DESIREE

DESIREE

Desiree represents the South African house music scene. Today, she can be talked about in the category of a global phenomenon – she performs all over the world, guesting at Ibiza or Fabric, and her vision of deep house is deeply based on African sounds. Active in Johannesburg, she founded the Boys Club, an initiative to work towards improving the visibility of marginalized femme people by organizing events, workshops and conferences that put women in the spotlight. Last year, she also made her debut as a producer with two tracks depicting the essence of her identity – from being raised on the sounds of Gui Boratto to the deep Afrotech she is surrounded by today.

DETOXIC

DETOXIC

Polish producer, DJ and promoter of d&b events. He is a resident of Sphinx700. He founded the Breaky Vibes collective. Described as a contemporary neurofunker, however, he can’t sit in one drawer, searching and trying to build eclectic sets. He looks for atmospheric moments in music and is not afraid of psychedelia or trance, which ensures that his broken selection always remains fresh and distinctive. His bio lists winning competitions or supporting acts in front of such stars as Noisia, Andy C and Black Sun Empire, but Detoxic must be written about in terms of a local star with his own vision and sound.

DUBFIRE

DUBFIRE

As hard as it is to believe, Iranian-American artist Dubfire only released his debut album late last year. After all, he’s an artist with incredible experience. He is a dance music icon, has been awarded a Grammy and has an extensive discography of singles and EPs. He is also known for his technologically groundbreaking live performances. The minimalist, dystopian techno contained on “EVOLV” marks the beginning of a new chapter in his career. We’d love to hear what’s written on the first pages.
