Carlita

Carlita

DJ Carlita, the dreamy sounds of the Turkish artist which evoke emotions of the known and memories of the unknown. The classically trained musician, who is often found playing the cello and whose guitar skills have developed from an early age, draws influences from rock and roll, psychedelic music, indie and acid rock. Growing up under the influence of Led Zeppelin, Depeche Mode and Yo-Yo Ma; these soundscapes can be felt by anyone who’s experienced her long musical journeys.

Known for the unexpected, DJ Carlita’s sets are characterized as emotional expeditions which aim to take you through musical journeys filled with spontaneous selections conceived through the dance floor and for the dance floor.

DJ Carlita has fast-conquered some of the most influential dance floors around the world, highlighting one of her most iconic musical scapes, her Garbicz set in which she found herself within herself. Her melancholic bigger than life sounds bounce from indie to disco to minimal and much in between Brazilian grooves to Latin vocals. One can say her musical sensitivity has a deeper meaning given she’s synesthetic.

She has kept herself busy with musical, visual and fashion projects which soon will see the daylight. Her classically trained approach to electronic music, brings a uniqueness to her sound much felt through the equalization of the harmonies in her productions.

Cormac

Cormac

Primed to become an ‘overnight success’ in a similar way all overnight successes break-through; following many years of hard-work, Cormac is currently one of dance music’s best kept secrets. With a rapidly growing reputation as a revered selector, the Northern Ireland born DJ is setting a course for dance-floors the world over with his sound that comprises the breadth of the house and techno spectrum, but with one defining characteristic; always records that touch the inner sanctum of the human spirit.

Since he began collecting music as a teenager near Belfast, his journey has been singularly driven by the discovery of amazing sounds, and his humble role in the constantly renewed potential for dance floor transcendence. Having traded in an all-too-quiet rural Irish life for the hedonism and high times of a very different London in the early 00s, Cormac was a regular dancer at zeitgeist defining institutions such as Trash, Nag Nag Nag and Bugged Out.

Through his involvement as booker and resident of the legendary WYS! parties, and with countless hours spent in the Room 1 booth at fabric in London, Cormac was imbued with a deep understanding of what makes a dance floor tick. This ability to tune into the collective emotional feeling of a room, coupled with his extensive record collection, allows Cormac to keep dance floors enthralled for countless hours.

This has been evident none more so than through his legendary closing performances at Panorama Bar and Snax. Often running up to ten-hours in length, and with free reign to play across the board sonically, Cormac has fast become a staple on the line-ups for the club. As the light pours in on Monday mornings, the crowd are kept moving with a selection of records layered with Cormac’s infectious personality.

2019 saw Cormac tour the US, Australia and Asia for the first time, evidence of his growing reputation from across the globe.

His excursions into productions are less frequent, yet always fruitful. He produced a word-of-mouth cult hit in Hypnotise/Feel, instantly beloved and rinsed by taste-making DJs such as Nina Kraviz, having previously conjured a timeless after-hours classic with the suitably melancholic atmosphere of the wistful ‘Narcosa’. His first collaboration with friend and Ostgut associated techno-magnate Tobias, ‘Static’, released as a limited edition seven-inch in 2015 is a deep, is a sophisticated listen. In December 2019 Cormac released the “Perfect Time” Ep on Jennifer Cardini’s Correspondent imprint with two killer remixes from Eagles & Butterflies.

In 2020 Cormac launched “Polari Records” a long planned project which finally came to fruition in Corona rest time. Polari is named from the old-fashioned gay slang used in Britain since at least the Victorian era. The label showcases producers that Cormac plays in his sets, and each 12”  features artwork from LGBTQ+ artists.
