Ae:ther live, ARTBAT, Courtesy, Fadi Mohem, Friction ft. MC Linguistics, Jayda G, Marvin & Guy, Oliver Huntemann, Park hye jin, Recondite b2b Marcus Worgull, SHDW & Obscure Shape, State of Mind, Technique International Sound: Drumsound & Bassline Smith b2b Tantrum Desire ft. Youngman, VTSS and YokoO join the group of confirmed artists of Audioriver 2019 line-up.

Audioriver’s music programme is a mixture of artists representing various genres of electronic and alternative music. This year, as usual, the festival stages will not lack both relatively new artistic faces, as well as well-known and international headliners liked for years.

Artists from all over the world
Jayda G is a Canadian whose personality is distinguished by unlimited enthusiasm and positive energy. This is confirmed by her characteristic selection during live performances, including warm productions in the atmosphere of R&B, soul, disco or house. In March 2019 she released her debut album “Significant Changes” in the catalogue of the respected Ninja Tune label – the same one that showed the world the albums of Bonobo or Amon Tobin. It is worth noting that apart from her musical output, Jayda G is also involved in scientific activities for the protection of the environment.

Park hye jin is a 24-year-old Korean singer, songwriter, rapper and DJ raised in Seoul. The artist gained fame in early 2019 with the song “I don’t care” from her debut EP “If U U Want It”, where she combines her own Korean and English vocals with keyboard melodic lines and electronic sounds. The characteristic style of park hye jin contributes to the growth of international interest in the phenomenon known as “k-house”.

Najaaraq Vestbirk, or Courtesy, is a Danish DJ and owner of Kulør label. Hours spent in less popular record store sections around the world and recordings from her hometown of Copenhagen have produced a unique musical style that the artist regularly presents to the public. Her eclectic sets are perfect for dancefloors, which she has already confirmed in Berghain club or at festivals such as Dekmantel and Atonal.

VTSS is one of the most interesting Polish artists of recent years. She is a resident of the Brutaż series and Warsaw’s Jasna 1 club, and also regularly travels around the cities of Europe, where she presents energetic and expressive live performances. The work of VTSS is a combination of sounds of techno, rave and industrial music. Her second project, Try, which debuted at the Unsound Festival in 2017, reflects the artist’s inspiration with early electronic sounds, Polish folklore and ambient music.

Dance electronics at its best
Lorenz Brunner, known as Recondite, is one of the most expressive producers and live performers on stage. The artist has many great releases in his catalogue, and one of them, a characteristic track called “Levo” was used as a music theme in the HBO series “Young Pope”. At Audioriver Recondite will play DJ set and will perform in Poland in this version for the first time. He will be accompanied by Marcus Worgull, a respected artist associated with the Innervisions label, known for his remix for The XX group and their song “Fiction”.

ARTBAT is a Ukrainian duo with a global reputation. Their songs have an impressive ability to drive both intimate club dancefloors and huge festival stages. That’s why their productions are used in their sets by many well-known artists, such as Richie Hawtin or Solomun, who also releases ARTBAT’s music on his Diynamic label. The fact that Arthur and Batish are on a high rise is confirmed by the number of watchers of their performance recorded by Cercle – in less than two months it was played almost two million times.

Oliver Huntemann, despite almost 25 years since his debut, continues to present his own vision of electronic music to the world. As a producer, he has released 5 studio albums, many smaller releases and remixes for artists such as Chemical Brothers, Depeche Mode and Underworld. What is more, for many years he has been cooperating with an artist known, among others, from the duo Deep Dish, named Dubfire, which resulted in, among others, the creation of a joint series of releases called “Elements”.

SHDW & Obscure Shape is one of those projects that has gained the sympathy of many fans of the genre by storm. Marco and Luigi have been running the From Another Mind label together since 2015 – in its catalogue you can find such releases as “Die Weiße Rose” or “Wenn Die Masken Fallen”, later remixed by such artists as Tale Of Us, Rødhåd or James Ruskin. As far as DJ sets are concerned, they both have the ability to mix many trends, such as detroit techno, acid and rave, which makes the duo’s performances very well received by the audience.

The Italian duo Marvin & Guy was born in 2011. Their releases can be described as intercontinental, as they have already collaborated with the Japanese label Let’s Get Lost, New York’s On The Prowl, Barcelona’s Hivern Discs (managed by John Talabot) and Italian Life & Death, one of the world’s leading catalogues, including productions from WhoMadeWho, Tale Of Us and Recondite. Marvin & Guy DJ sets are a guarantee of a dance experience, regardless of the place and time.

Ae:ther was inspired at an early age by the early sound of Detroit and the work of artists such as Autechre, Brian Eno and Tangerine Dream, pioneers who pushed the boundaries of sound. Now, the artist continues his musical exploration in the studio, showing the world music full of emotion and energy. His talent as a producer has been appreciated by the creators of two important electronic labels – Tale Of Us and their Afterlife and Damian Lazarus, who took him under the wing of the Crosstown Rebels label.

YokoO is one of the specialists in creating deep, hypnotic sounds of electronics. Thanks to releases on well-known labels such as All Day I Dream, Get Physical, Moodmusic and Plastic City, YokoO has joined the international producer’s lead. This is confirmed by the debut album “Nothing Can Compare” released this year, which has just been released on the aforementioned Lee Burridge label, All Day I Dream.

Fadi Mohem was inspired by electronic music from an early age. As an artist, he is still working on his portfolio, which avoids genres categories, although the material contained in the EP entitled “Reckless” is a material strictly for dancefloors. His debut release is also the first catalogue number of the new Berlin-based event series, Werk.

Representatives of the international drum & bass scene
Award-winning Friction is one of the most respected drum & bass artists in the world. He manages the world-famous Shogun Audio label, which has promoted many of the greatest production talents on stage and has a six-year-long broadcast on BBC Radio 1. In addition, his DJ calendar is filled with almost all the time – he has already played at the Glastonbury Festival, as well as in Los Angeles, Tokyo and many European cities.

Coming from Auckland, New Zealand, the State Of Mindduo form Maxwell and Patrick Hawkins. The project was created in 2004 and since then has released 4 full-length albums, 1 live album and a large number of singles and EPs. The list of labels they work with includes the most important outfits of the drum & bass scene. These include Eatbrain, Shogun, Viper and Bad Company. Currently, they are representatives of Blackout, a label belonging to Black Sun Empire.

Technique International Soundis a project formed by several artists – the Drumsound duo (Andy Wright and Benjamin Wiggett) and Simon Bassline Smith, who are responsible for the Technique Recordings label, as well as the label artist Jay Faleye, known as Tantrum Desire. Together they will present an energetic DJ set and will be accompanied on stage by Youngman, British singer and MC.

AR Sun/Day 19

AR Sun/Day 19

We are announcing the artists who will perform during the 5th edition of Audioriver Sun/Day, the event that closes the Płock festival on Sunday afternoon. The announced performers include Damian Lazarus, Brina Knauss, DAVI, Kissy Sell Out and Jaguar Skills.

Sun/Day is Audioriver’s third day held not on the beach, but in a nearby park filled with warm and danceable music, colorful decorations and artistic installations. This year the 5th edition of the event will take place and for many people it is an obligatory part of the festival program. This is confirmed by the number of sold tickets – three-day tickets including Sun/Day were sold out more than 3 months before the start of Audioriver, and a limited number of one-day tickets will be available only at the gates.

The 5th edition of Sun/Day could not miss Damian Lazarus, a friend of the festival and the artist, who closed the music part of Audioriver four times during Sunday evenings with his memorable performances. The Brit is a great DJ and producer, as well as one of the most charismatic characters on the stage today, which has contributed to the promotion of many talents as a producer. On his label, Crosstown Rebels, Maceo Plex, Jamie Jones and Art Department released their early records.

Damian Lazarus will be accompanied by the artists from his Rebellion label. Brina Knauss began her musical career in Slovenia and then moved to Milan, where she worked as a model and then began to act as a DJ at club events. This year she made her debut with an EP titled “DJing”. That year she debuted with an EP entitled “Sledi Toku”. DAVI, on the other hand, could play acoustic guitar at the age of 15, and later, after vocal classes at Yerevan Komitas State and local shows, moved to Los Angeles. Now he has released on such labels as Rebellion and Anjunadeep.

During Sunday afternoon on the last weekend of July in Płock, there will also appear artists who will play broken sounds in a lighter and sunny version. This special selection of songs will be presented by Seba, one of the most famous representatives of the genre, who will also perform on Friday night on the beach. Jaguar Skills is an artist valued not only by drum & bass fans, but also hip-hop enthusiasts. This was due to his world-famous mixtape “History Of Hip-Hop”, containing over 600 classical tracks mixed in the order of their release, i.e. from 1979 to 2006.

Kissy Sell Out, another artist in the Audioriver Sun/Day line-up, is also a valued DJ. The British man has had his own show on BBC Radio 1 for several years and has also produced remixes for Mark Ronson, Calvin Harris and Sugabababes. Vocal skills in Płock will be presented by Degs, who is associated with Hospital, where he released songs with the participation of London Elektricity and Etherwood.

Polish artists will also perform on the third day of Audioriver. Just like during the last two editions, Leon and Glasse will play a duet on Sun/Day. Leon is a DJ with over 15 years of experience, who has been associated with Audioriver since its beginning – he co-creates the program of the festival and is responsible for bookings of foreign artists. Glasse is also a DJ and promoter with many years of experience and impressive achievements of performing at leading festivals and clubs all over Poland. The second stage will feature a representative of the Poznań scene, i.e. k.o. and In-Deed– a producer whose releases attracted the attention of such famous figures as LTJ Bukem, DJ Marky or London Elektricity.

Three day tickets to the festival including Audioriver Sun/Day have been sold out, but a limited number of tickets for Sunday afternoon will be available for purchase at the gates. Two-day tickets for Friday and Saturday and one-day tickets for both days are available for sale online and at stationary points. They can be obtained via the eBilet.pl website: https://bit.ly/2faykc5 and in selected stationary points all over Poland: https://bit.ly/2F8O10S.

You can find a playlist of previously announced artists on Audioriver’s official Spotify profile at https://spoti.fi/2D8rcXA.

Timetable AR19

Timetable AR19

Audioriver 2019 starts in 7 days, it’s time to make a schedule. And there’ s plenty to plan, because 8 main stages and areas on the beach will play as usual from evening to morning. Over a hundred artists will perform at the festival this year. In addition, the programme of daytime events – Audioriver Sobótka – is full of meetings, discussions and, as always, music. And on Sunday you can rest at “probably the most beautiful daytime party in Poland”- Sun/Day.

In response to the voices of many Audioriver fans, this year’s festival will also feature a new chillout zone, prepared for those who need to relax and want to slow down. There will be musical experiences, but calmer ones and decorations prepared by artists. The chillout zone invites you on Friday and Saturday (26th and 27th July) between 9:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m.

This is the last moment to buy tickets to the festival, which are close to being sold out. Until Monday, July 22nd, two-day tickets for Friday and Saturday will be available for sale at a lower price. In the ebilet.pl (https://bit.ly/2PduJqS) ticket shop and in stationary points (their list can be found at https://bit.ly/2F8O10S) you can also buy one-day tickets for both days.
