Abstract Division, Blawan, Danger, Dimension, Dirtyphonics liive, Kapoor, Kölsch, Lee Burridge, Mefjus ft. Maksim MC and The Blaze are the next performers to join the group of artists of the 14th edition of Audioriver Festival.
Every year Audioriver is a must for fans of music from different backgrounds, such as fans of various trends in electronic, alternative or pop music. The fourth announcement is another 10 reasons to visit Płock during the last weekend of July.
Electronic music in the audiovisual dimension
At Audioriver, we have seen how strong and emotional it can be to combine electronic music with video show, thanks to performances by such artists as Moderat, Richie Hawtin and Nicolas Jaar.
An intriguing duo The Blaze will present a stage performance at this year’s edition of the festival. The project is created by Guillaume and Jonathan Alric, music producers and film directors, whose work has been enthralled by the world’s media, including The New York Times and NME. In 2018, their debut album “Dancehall” was released, featuring productions loved by fans all over the world, such as “Territory” and “Virile”, and the accompanying clips gathered millions of views on YouTube. During The Blaze’s energetic live performances, the music is also connected with the video, which last year’s audiences at festivals such as Coachella, Primavera Sound and Parklife were convinced of.
Danger owes his entry into the world of music to his parents because he learned to play the piano and the saxophone as a child. When he was growing up, he played in both jazz and punk bands and was also interested in metal music and skateboarding. In later years he became acquainted with electronic music thanks to games designed for Atari and Amiga computers, and finally enchanted fans with his own vision of powerful, dirty electro. In January, the latest, second album in the Frenchman’s oeuvre was released, entitled “Origins”, accompanied by a concert tour with an audiovisual live show. One of the stops on this tour will be a performance at Audioriver.
A lot of dancing energy Lee Burridge is an extremely charismatic figure in the world of electronics. In the early 1990s he had a significant influence on the development of the club scene in Asia, and today he is known primarily for his unique All Day I Dream label, whose dreamlike and hypnotic sounds won the hearts of fans from all over the world. What always distinguishes his performances is a unique dance feeling. Thanks to him, even with the help of calm music, he can convey to the audience a huge amount of energy and positive emotions. We saw it during the magical ending of Audioriver Sun/Day last year.
The lively productions are the hallmark of Kölsch, the author of three great albums released by Kompakt. Each of the albums is a kind of return to the memories and events of the past, which he talks about with the help of sounds. The last of the albums is titled “1989”, and the resulting flagship track entitled “Grey” was a big hit with over 3 million YouTube views and over 10 million Spotify plays. Kölsch’s performances are also very popular. The artist has already had the opportunity to perform in places such as Coachella, Tomorrowland and… The Eiffel Tower, which was recorded by the cams of Cercle.
Blawan is one of the talents of the British scene, whose characteristic vision combines the roots of industrial electronics with modern sound. Jamie grew up in Barnsley and from his earliest years he got to know the world of music as a drummer, which shouldn’t surprise those who know his productions published in Hessle Audio or R&S Records. Blawan is a great solo artist, but we can’t forget to mention his other interesting projects, such as Karenn (in which he is accompanied by Pariah) and Trade (duo created with Surgeon).
With more than 25 years of stage experience, Paul Boex and Dave Miller are specialists in choosing the right recording for the right time on the dance floor – regardless of the momentum of the event. They have acquired such a valuable skill thanks to sets played all over the world and their own series of events called Decode, permanently residing in Rotterdam. In addition to traveling and performing regularly, Paul also runs his own Dynamic Reflection label, where he publishes the music of the Abstract Divisionand promotes other producer talents.
Every year at Audioriver there is no shortage of talented performers representing the Polish scene – one of them is Kamil Mokrzanowski, DJ and producer creating under the pseudonym Kapoor. As he says himself, he explored the world of music thanks to Pink Floyd, Depeche Mode or Genesis records, which he was stealing from his parents from his earliest childhood. As an artist, Kamil shares with the audience his vision of electronic music, based mainly on deep, oriental sounds. His inspirations include the works of Viken Arman and the Bedouin duo.
Drum & Bass sounds First stage performances accompanied by heavy metal bands, cooperation with Linkin Park and Marilyn Manson…. Sounds like a prelude to a rock band’s performance, and we’re talking about the French band Dirtyphonics, breaking the genre’s electronic framework. As one of the members of the group reminisces: “We have been raised listening to so many different musical genres and we definitively don’t want to be stuck in a specific one. We have the most fun mixing them all together to create something unique”. The foundation of Dirtyphonics’ work are bass sounds, such as drum & bass, dubstep and house, whose mixture has appealed to the new generation of dance music fans.
Martin Schober, born in Austria, is a characteristic figure in the world of drum & bass. He likes hip-hop, skateboarding, schnitzel and long walks in the sunset, and fans love him for traveling through many sorts of electronic music. This makes him one of the most important representatives of the new generation in the genre. Currently, Mefjus is working with Vision, a label run by the renowned Noisia trio, where he released his second album “Manifesto” last year.
Dimension is a producer whose music perfectly balances between the club dancefloor and radio waves. At an early stage of his career, the artist attracted the attention of such characters as Andy C, Sub Focus and Chase & Status, and then worked with Nero and Duke Dumont. His latest hit, co-produced with Sub Focus, “Desire” has received more than 5.5 million views on YouTube in just 6 months since its release.

This is confirmed by her characteristic selection during live performances, including warm productions in the atmosphere of R&B, soul, disco or house. The artist gained fame in early 2019 with the song “I don’t care” from her debut EP “If U U Want It”, where she combines her own Korean and English vocals with keyboard melodic lines and electronic sounds. The characteristic style of park hye jin contributes to the growth of international interest in the phenomenon known as “k-house”.
Najaaraq Vestbirk, or Courtesy, is a Danish DJ and owner of Kulør label. Hours spent in less popular record store sections around the world and recordings from her hometown of Copenhagen have produced a unique musical style that the artist regularly presents to the public. Her eclectic sets are perfect for dancefloors, which she has already confirmed in Berghain club or at festivals such as Dekmantel and Atonal.
VTSS is one of the most interesting Polish artists of recent years. She is a resident of the Brutaż series and Warsaw’s Jasna 1 club, and also regularly travels around the cities of Europe, where she presents energetic and expressive live performances. The work of VTSS is a combination of sounds of techno, rave and industrial music. Her second project, Try, which debuted at the Unsound Festival in 2017, reflects the artist’s inspiration with early electronic sounds, Polish folklore and ambient music.
Dance electronics at its best Lorenz Brunner, known as Recondite, is one of the most expressive producers and live performers on stage. The artist has many great releases in his catalogue, and one of them, a characteristic track called “Levo” was used as a music theme in the HBO series “Young Pope”. He will be accompanied by Marcus Worgull, a respected artist associated with the Innervisions label, known for his remix for The XX group and their song “Fiction”.
ARTBAT is a Ukrainian duo with a global reputation. Their songs have an impressive ability to drive both intimate club dancefloors and huge festival stages. That’s why their productions are used in their sets by many well-known artists, such as Richie Hawtin or Solomun, who also releases ARTBAT’s music on his Diynamic label. The fact that Arthur and Batish are on a high rise is confirmed by the number of watchers of their performance recorded by Cercle – in less than two months it was played almost two million times.
Oliver Huntemann, despite almost 25 years since his debut, continues to present his own vision of electronic music to the world. As a producer, he has released 5 studio albums, many smaller releases and remixes for artists such as Chemical Brothers, Depeche Mode and Underworld. What is more, for many years he has been cooperating with an artist known, among others, from the duo Deep Dish, named Dubfire, which resulted in, among others, the creation of a joint series of releases called “Elements”.
SHDW & Obscure Shape is one of those projects that has gained the sympathy of many fans of the genre by storm. Marco and Luigi have been running the From Another Mind label together since 2015 – in its catalogue you can find such releases as “Die Weiße Rose” or “Wenn Die Masken Fallen”, later remixed by such artists as Tale Of Us, Rødhåd or James Ruskin. As far as DJ sets are concerned, they both have the ability to mix many trends, such as detroit techno, acid and rave, which makes the duo’s performances very well received by the audience.
The Italian duo Marvin & Guy was born in 2011. Their releases can be described as intercontinental, as they have already collaborated with the Japanese label Let’s Get Lost, New York’s On The Prowl, Barcelona’s Hivern Discs (managed by John Talabot) and Italian Life & Death, one of the world’s leading catalogues, including productions from WhoMadeWho, Tale Of Us and Recondite. Marvin & Guy DJ sets are a guarantee of a dance experience, regardless of the place and time.

Now, the artist continues his musical exploration in the studio, showing the world music full of emotion and energy. His talent as a producer has been appreciated by the creators of two important electronic labels – Tale Of Us and their Afterlife and Damian Lazarus, who took him under the wing of the Crosstown Rebels label.
YokoO is one of the specialists in creating deep, hypnotic sounds of electronics. Thanks to releases on well-known labels such as All Day I Dream, Get Physical, Moodmusic and Plastic City, YokoO has joined the international producer’s lead. This is confirmed by the debut album “Nothing Can Compare” released this year, which has just been released on the aforementioned Lee Burridge label, All Day I Dream.
Fadi Mohem was inspired by electronic music from an early age. As an artist, he is still working on his portfolio, which avoids genres categories, although the material contained in the EP entitled “Reckless” is a material strictly for dancefloors. His debut release is also the first catalogue number of the new Berlin-based event series, Werk.
Representatives of the international drum & bass scene Award-winning Friction is one of the most respected drum & bass artists in the world.
