We have finally decided to announce the first batch of headliners that have been booked to perform this July on the picturesque beach in the city of Plock. Now in its sixth year, the festival will host the debut Polish performances of some of the hottest names in electronic music, including Trentemøller (with his band), Modeselektor, Reboot live, Pan-Pot and Ernesto Ferreyra.
Anders Trentemøller has for quite some time undoubtedly been one of the most talked about and respected artists out there. After hitting the big time five years ago thanks to his fantastic debut album (‘The Last Resort’), the Danish artist went on to secure the prestigious title of ‘Essential Mix of the Year’ not long after. Add to that a slew of dancefloor friendly EPs on labels like Pokerflat, and what you have is a very impressive resume. In short, Trentemøller will play live in Poland for the very first time (his DJ debut took place last year in Warsaw), and what will make it all the more special is the fact that will be making the trek together with his band as part of the forthcoming promotional tour of his latest album, ‘The Great Wide Yonder’. So it should pretty much go without saying that expectations will be very high, especially if one takes into consideration that readers of the French magazine ‘OnlyForDJ’s’ voted Trentemøller Live In Concert the best live act of 2010.
Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary have also been to Poland, but the duo has never performed as Modeselektor. The two Berlin-based musicians graced the beach two years ago with their show stopping performance as two-thirds of Moderat, and were so impressed by the sound system that after they got off stage, they asked us if they could come back some time in the future, so as to get the chance to “tear this festival apart” (their words, not ours). It is also worth mentioning that Modeselektor is slated to perform accompanied by BPitch stalwarts Pfadfinderei, who will be on visuals duty at Audioriver for the third consecutive year.
Also known for their no nonsense approach to dance music, Tassilo Ippenberger and Thomas Benedix aka Pan-Pot will come to Poland in full force. Known for their energetic productions and DJ sets, the German duo are by many considered to be one of the hottest acts in techno. And with productions such as ‘Confronted’ and ‘Captain My Captain’ under their belts, it seems that the hype surrounding the production team is anything but unjustified.
Moving on, the last two artists making their Polish debut performances with be representatives of Luciano’s label, Cadenza. At present, Reboot is undoubtedly the number one name on the imprint’s roster right after its owner, and second place in Resident Advisor’s best live act poll in 2009 speaks volumes as to why exactly, not to mention his very stellar debut album from last year.
Another name from Cadenza who released a very solid debut album last year was Ernesto Ferreyra. After dropping ‘El Paraiso De Las Tortugas’, the Argentinean’s stock as a producer has risen considerably, but what few may actually know is that he is also a very talented DJ. In fact, he is so talented that Luciano more and more frequently demands that Ernesto plays either before or after him. Oh, and let’s not forget that Ferreyra also happens to be one-half of Chic Miniature, along with Guillaume Coutu Dumont.
Audioriver will take place between July 29th and July 31st 2011 in Plock, Poland.
Advance ticket prices will be made available shortly.
