2011 Audioriver Trade Fair

The one and only trade fair in Poland dedicated to alternative music scene will take place for the second time in Plock as part of the Audioriver festival. During the last Friday and Saturday of July, you all will have the opportunity to get to know (up close and personal) a total of 20 companies and organizations, listen to several hours of quality music, as well as take part in a number of exclusive Red Bull Music Academy workshops. And if that wasn’t enough, everything will be taking place in the very heart of Plock’s picturesque Old Town as part of the Independent Market project.

Let’s start with the already mentioned Red Bull Music Academy workshops. Conducted by none other than Gilles Peterson and Modeselektor, this year’s workshops promise to be a highly exciting affair. The former is one of the key figured at BBC 1 radio, and quite possibly one of the most respected DJs around. The latter, on the other hand, is a German duet known for their explosive live performances, as well as their collaboration with Apparat a few years ago under the Moderat moniker. Apart from the chats with the two aforementioned acts, a special info session with Polish graduates of the Red Bull Music Academy are also slated to take place. Additionally, some of the graduates will be given the opportunity to show their stuff live in the Old Market Square. Thus, you can expect high quality performances from the likes of Eltron John, Mic Ostap, as well as Seb Skalski. They will be supported by celebrated Polish DJs, namely, Leon, Optymist, Luke Hiero, Pavlo and Ice.

And what about the exhibitors at the trade fair? Well, a grand total of 20 were handpicked from a total of more than 30 applications. Among them are a number of companies and organizations which also took part in last year’s edition. These include: the organizer of Free Form Festival – Good Music Productions, Electroclash.pl and Pink Kong Agency, designers IM@HOME, the lubiszTo! artist agency, Detroit Zdrój and 1500 m2 do wynajęcia, Radio RTS.FM, the Polish distributor of Vestax and Ortofon – Mediam, as well as Skylark Records.

What’s more, a slew of others will take part for the very first time. Among them are the Plateaux Foundation (which organizes a festival under the same name), two record shops (Mash-Up Records and Side One), the new Polish label New Moon Recordings, and the organizers of a number of high profile parties: Fundacja Kultural Kolektiv i Elektropunkz, the Lublin-based club Soundbar. And finally, Friday:PM, a company which specializes in the development of applications that help support interaction between artist and audience, as well as the Academy of Humanistic and Economic Studies in Lodz have also been chosen to take part in the Independent Market Trade Fair.

Additionally, the Red Bull Music Academy, Spolka Akcyjna (the organizers of Audioriver), as well as Embros (the company responsible for all  Audioriver merchandise – visit www.audioriver.embros.pl for more information) will also have their own spots in the Old Market Square.

Red Bull Music Academy is Audioriver’s official partner for the Independent Market Project. Admission to the workshops is free of charge, but prior registration is required.
